Finance for Non-Finance Professionals

Fundamentals of finance are like the radar that bats use effectively to navigate. A clear understanding of finance is an essential requirement to speak the language of commerce, industry and management. It is a powerful tool that allows managers a clearer insight into the mysteries of corporate decisions.

Target Group: All managers and professionals without an educated background and knowledge of finance, but are called upon to work in a finance environment. This course is based on the assumption that those who understand the fundamentals of finance are far better equipped to deal with critical management decisions and contribute more effectively to any organisation.

Planned Outcome: Understanding and appreciation of the basic principles of finance, of investments, financial instruments offered by banks and financial institutions, the nature and complexities of money, funds, users and savers; basic of corporate finance, project finance, risks, interest rates and the world of commercial and investment banking. Understanding and ability to construct a simple Income Statement, basics of corporate structures, profits, share prices, share market sentiments, market capitalisation and the growth prospects of a corporation based on its capacity to leverage. All aspects will be taught in layman's language with a glossary of technical terms used in finance and accounting.

Admission Requirements: Proficiency in English, minimum 3 years of work experience.

 Courses are delivered in London, but are also offered in other locations globally, either directly by EDCL or in association with partnering institutions.

What will I achieve?

A Certificate of Achievement from EDCL and St Patricks International College in Finance for Non-Finance Professionals.

How much will it cost?

Fees are £1,990. Donor-funed, govenment or corporate sponsorships of larger groups will have substantial discounts.
